Age of Adolescence 1 & 2 are a set of paintings that draw our attention to that important period in a woman›s life – the adolescent years. These were painted as a part of an event celebrating the
empowerment of women. According to ancient Tamil literature, five colors were associated with five stages of a woman’s life. White – Childhood, Green – Adolescence, Red – Adulthood, Black – Middle age, and Gold – Old Age.

In this set of paitnings, Green was alotted to the artist, so the paintings show the two facets of Adolescence – a sense of liberation and reaching for greater heights, and in the second painting: curiosity and a bit of innocence.
